Animal Crossing: New Horizons celebrated its anniversary on March 20, 2021. During this period, the Nintendo Life Simulator became the second most successful Switch game with 32 million sales. Since then, the series shows no signs of slowing down, posting regular updates and events.

On March 17, Nintendo headed over to Twitter to announce a prom-inspired event coming to the game. The prom is a traditional Western tradition celebrated at the end of the school season or graduation. Usually depicts people dressing up and gathering to dance and celebrate.

The Animal Crossing event will run from April 1 to April 30. During the event, players will be able to buy Animal Crossing items and clothing for the prom, including dresses, tiaras, colorful tuxedos and sashes. While it would be nice to have an official "Ball Ball" where players have an excuse to dress up and dance, there is no news of such an event.

These are the items that will be available during the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Prom event

Ball masks, crowns and tiaras have two variants. The prom sash will be available in seven different colors including red, black, blue, yellow, green, purple and white. Both the prom dance shoes and the bubble skirt style dress have eight vibrant colors to choose from. They can be purchased for 1,200 and 2,500 bells respectively.

Players who want to stand out from the crowd can opt for sequin dresses and petticoats. Although they share a similar pattern, sequin dresses are sparkling and reflective while petticoat dresses give a more elegant look. They will be available for 2,240 bells and 2,600 bells respectively.

For players who want to show off their inner prom king, Nintendo has prepared live tuxedos. They will be available in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, monotone and brown and can be purchased for 2,800 rings.

Finally, decorative elements such as ball wallpaper and prom floor will be available for 3,000 bells each. They will be useful if you want to organize your own ball-themed event with your friends.

Clothes and accessories can only be purchased from Able Sisters, and walls and floors are available on the Promotion tab in Nook Shopping. Additionally, Nintendo will be releasing different variants of these items throughout the event, so be sure to keep your Animal Crossing bells for items you really want to buy.
