Animal Crossing: New Horizons brought the show unprecedented popularity on the Nintendo Switch, but longtime fans quickly realized something was missing. Players can place items anywhere and decorate their islands in much more detail than ever before, even with the ability to customize the terrain itself, but the lack of Animal Crossing's beloved Froggy Chair makes some community members wonder if Nintendo has ever had it. will do. to do. add it back to New Horizons where it belongs.

Since Japan's exclusive Animal Forest on the Nintendo 64 (later transferred to the GameCube as Animal Crossing in the West), there has been a small furniture set known as the Froggy Set that includes only the Lily-Pad table and the Froggy chair. It's a plain green chair with an image of a smiling cartoon frog, but it eventually became a popular meme among the Animal Crossing community.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a huge success, but no amount of Christmas updates or hard-to-find amiibo cards will fill the Froggy Chair-shaped void. Fans immediately realized that the kit was missing, leading to many comic reports of the unexpected absence of the Froggy Chair. New Horizons has been constantly updated since its launch in March 2020, but Nintendo has yet to incorporate this favorite item into the game. It's unclear why, but Nintendo could eventually allow the Froggy Chair to make a triumphant return.

Old Animal Crossing items have returned in the New Horizons updates

Most of the New Horizons updates have focused on adding furniture and activities for specific holidays, but that doesn't mean Nintendo can't update to add the Froggy Chair in the future. New Horizons also missed out on a number of Nintendo-related items at launch. To celebrate the 35th anniversary of Super Mario, Mario-themed items have been added to New Horizons, many of which have appeared in previous Animal Crossing games. Nintendo has proven that cut items can come back, so the Froggy Chair still has a chance.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now officially one year old, which means Nintendo doesn't have too many holidays about updates anymore. Therefore, simple Animal Crossing updates that add new furniture or activities will likely be the norm from now on, and it won't hurt to continue flushing out trimmed content from previous games. Even if Nintendo doesn't add the Froggy Chair itself, Animal Crossing: New Horizons customization tools have already enabled some players to bring so much love for the Froggy Chair back to their cities.
