Animal Crossing: New Horizons reveals New Year items

With the end of the year approaching, many games are announcing or launching New Year's events and collectibles. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is not to be missed and a new trailer from Isabelle reveals some goodies players can get to throw their own holiday party.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons follows a real clock and therefore usually has some sort of in-game event to celebrate big holidays like Christmas, Halloween and of course New Years Eve. While Christmas is still approaching, Isabelle is apparently excited about the New Years and has given players a peek at what to buy at Nook's Shopping.

In a tweet on her official Animal Crossing account, Isabelle announced that Animal Crossing New Years merchandise is now available on Nook Shopping. While none of the items are mentioned by name, a few are visible in the attached image. Balloon Arch 2022, Kadomatsu, Olivier Salad and New Year's Noodles can be seen in the player's home, among others.

According to Isabelle, the products for the New Year's Eve will be available at Nook Shopping until December 31. In turn, New Year's items can be purchased until January 5. Players looking to collect tons of Animal Crossing items will likely get started quickly as there is a limit to the items a player can buy per day using the Nook Shopping catalog.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons took off as the COVID-19 pandemic was just beginning to pose a serious threat, leading to blockades and protocols of social isolation around the world. Since then, players have been using it as a way to socialize with family and friends who may not be with them in real life. While many people have recovered to a certain level of normalcy in their daily lives, New Horizons offers players at least one way to virtually communicate with loved ones or those who are otherwise concerned about travel and social engagement, as well as calling on New Years Day ... if not they can physically be together.

As the game approaches its second anniversary, players are still quite busy with the game as the latest Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update added loads of new content for players to enjoy. While there are no further DLC releases planned for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it is likely that the game will have plenty of collectibles this year for players to pick up when the holiday comes.
