Some Expensive Bugs Animal Crossing guide

The most popular bugs in the game are each sold for a few hundred Animal Crossing bells. Less frequent insects take longer to catch and sell for more, often several thousand bells, and while they can be difficult to breed due to their scarcity, they are great specimens to look for. The most valuable bugs in the game are sold to Timmy and Tommy in Nook's Cranny for 8,000-12,000 rings. Players can also sell all of these bugs to Flick, getting about 30% more per creation. Here are the most expensive bugs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and how to find them.

Golden Stag: 12,000 bells

Players will find a golden deer on coconut and palm trees around the beaches of their island in the evening from 5:00 PM. They are only available from July to the end of August in the Northern Hemisphere and from January to the end of February in the Southern Hemisphere. Players can still find it in rainy weather.

The Golden Stag is the most timid of all the beetle species featured in the game, and players will have to stalk it to keep it from scaring away when it tries to catch it. It's a valuable but widely regarded as the hardest catch in the game.

The Golden Stag sold to Flick is worth a whopping 18,000 bells.

Giraffe Stag: 12,000 bells

The Giraffe Stag is new to the Animal Crossing series, first introduced in New Horizons. Like the Golden Deer, it also hangs from coconut and palm trees around the beaches and is also only active from 5 p.m. until 8 am, even in the rain. In the Northern Hemisphere they are only available from July to the end of August and in the Southern Hemisphere from January to the end of February.

Horned Hercules: 12,000 bells

Players will find Horned Hercules with other deer on coconut and palm trees around the island's beaches. The beetle is also active at night, active from 5 pm. up to 8 am, even in rainy weather. In the Northern Hemisphere they are only available from July to the end of August, in the Southern Hemisphere from January to the end of February.

Like the Golden Deer, Horned Hercules is extremely skittish, so players will want to approach from behind at the lowest speed to catch it before it flies away.

Scarab Beetle: 10,000 bells

The Scarab Beetle is worth a little less, but can still be a good source of bells. Players will find it on fruit and deciduous trees on the island from 11pm. every day until 8 in the morning, even in the rain. In the Northern Hemisphere, scarab beetles are only available from July to the end of August and in the Southern Hemisphere from January to the end of February.

Players will find Goliath Beetles in the palm trees around their island from 5:00 PM. until 8 am, even in the rain. They are available in the Northern Hemisphere from June to August and in the Southern Hemisphere from December to March.

Goliath beetles are the least skittish palm beetles and the player can approach them with normal walking speed if they are fast with a net. However, walking normally around the Goliath Beetle for long periods of time will still put him off.
